Author Bio

Great Aunt Lily taught me to read, my mother parked me in the book section of The Bay while she shopped, and my grade 12 English teacher encouraged me to write. *Several* years later ... I had over 100 magazine and newspaper articles published. I also edited a business magazine, and a Diabetes Education Guide that won a Writer's Digest award. But then ... “Grandma, can you tell me a story?” This polite request from one grandchild, soon echoed by a slightly younger grandchild, helped to catapult me from the world of non-fiction writing and editing right into Children’s Storyland. Here I combine my joy in writing with my delight in spending time with some ultra special little people—who are also the inspiration for my characters. Meet Tommy, Tina and Katie Kat, noble heroes of Scissortown; Marie and Mr. Bee, whose gentle tale of compassion and forever friendship is a special inspiration to children with disabilities; and Little Bunny, a library-loving rabbit.
